I am:

– Passionate about the work I do

– Qualified and BACP Accredited  (see BACP website for further info: British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

I have been:

– Practising as a Counsellor since 2007

– Working in the field of mental health and well-being for over 20 years

– Working as a Tutor and Supervisor on the Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at The Academy: S.P.A.C.E. in Sheffield since 2016

  • In addition to the 30 hours of ‘Continued Professional Development’ (CPD) that I undertake every year, my main qualifications are:

MSc Psychotherapy Studies, PGC (Level 7) in Clinical Supervision, Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (core training: Person-Centred), Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), BA (Hons) Philosophy, Certificate and Diploma in Online Counselling

  • I work with a range of issues: problematic anxiety (including social anxiety, intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours), stress, depression, poor self-esteem, lack of confidence, relationship problems, personal dilemmas, bereavement and loss, problematic anger, trauma, and many other difficulties

I’d describe my counselling approach as Humanistic and Integrative

I tend to draw on ideas and techniques from the following approaches, depending on the individual and what they want from the therapy:

  • Person-Centred
  • Existential
  • Creative approaches
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution Focused
  • Psychodynamic

I have been fortunate enough to experience first hand the power of counselling and psychotherapy for positive change, both for myself as a client and for the people I have had the privilege to support in my career.
